How To Fix a MacBook Power Adapter/Supply – DIY, EASY
Is it safe to take out the battery of a laptop while using the AC adapter power supply cord?
I’ve been using my laptop without the battery attached to it while the AC adapter power supply is plugged in. I’ve read on Windows Help and Support that it’s best to take out the battery while using the cord to prevent damage to the battery. Is this true?
Yes it is true for certain situations.
If you use your laptop primarily in one spot leaving it plugged up to an AC source, the extensive and constant recharging of a battery will shorten the life of the battery considerably. It will not hurt your laptop in any way to run it without the battery in, however I must note that from time to time it would be a good idea to hook the battery back up for a few hours to charge.
