Guitar pedals can be a great way of improving the sound of your guitar. Many of the most famous guitarists in the world uses these pedals to create unique sounds, and a good pedal can make a huge difference in how your guitar sounds.

Buying a guitar pedal online can be a very economical choice, if you take a few precautions first. Keep in mind that what you can’t see, can mean a lot of trouble. While you can save money buying pedals online, the risk of getting one that is broken or has missing parts is also significantly higher than if you had bought it locally.

One of the best places to find guitar pedals is on Ebay, and the risk is somewhat lower than other auction sites. This is because you can see if the seller has a positive or negative rating. If a seller has a bad reputation and too many negative reviews, I would highly suggest you move on. It simply isn’t worth the risk, even if you have found a pedal you really want.

If you are comfortable with the seller, the next step is to ask questions. Don’t be afraid to voice any concerns you have and ask for more photos of the pedal. This should help give you an idea of the condition it is in, and how responsive the seller actually is. If the pedal is being offered at a significant discount, don’t be afraid to ask why. If the seller’s response throws up any red flags, tread carefully.

Buying thorough an online auction is mostly common sense. If there isn’t a picture of the pedal, that should be another red flag. Does it look damaged, but the seller didn’t disclose it? Don’t be afraid to go over everything with a critical eye. Finally, make sure the return policy is suitable and find out who is responsible for the shipping costs.

Buying guitar pedals online is a great way to save money and find some rare and vintage pedals that aren’t available in your local shops. Just be sure to follow the tips above to help prevent being some scam artists next victim!
